Campaign and Event Branding for IIDR

About

Inspired by the recent advocacy against racism in the world, The International Institute of DNA Research is launching a joint campaign in anticipation of its fourth annual conference. This campaign aims to bring awareness about racism and take a stand against discrimination, xenophobia, antisemitism and intolerance by encouraging equality, tolerance and diversity amongst different ethnic groups.

The campaign is split into two major phases and runs with the tagline "Equal As All Races Should Be". It starts with a video Ad that aims to pass the message of equality. The first phase of the campaign creates awareness through the use of information ads via social media and outdoor advertisements which aims at enlightening people of various culture about the dangers of racism, and the pros that comes with embracing diversity and equality. This phase is also to create massive awareness about the annual conference scheduled to hold by year end. The time-frame of the first phase is 2 months, and would be broadcast at different cities around the world.

The second phase of the campaign will be launched to disseminate daily content aimed at banishing racist and discriminatory attitudes and beliefs, simultaneously encouraging attitudes that support plurality, tolerance and equality and presenting to the world the image of an ideal racism-free world. This phase will be running till the annual conference.

The theme of the conference is "Racial Equality As The Standard" which features keynote speakers from diverse backgrounds and race, professions ranging from advocates to activists, professors and many more.

The 3-day conference will run from 15th to 17th November, 2020.

The first phase launches a set of informative Ads aimed at bringing awareness to the general public about racism in different parts of the world.

The second phase of the campaign which will be launched to disseminate content aimed at banishing racist and discriminatory attitudes and beliefs, simultaneously encouraging attitudes that support plurality, tolerance and equality and presenting to the world the image of an ideal racism-free world.

For the Conference, IIDR's visual identity was modified to follow the theme of the event which is Equality. Each existing element from the visual language took on a new form to help the organisation take the forefront in the fight for racial equality.

A new design language was also designed for the conference. This was different to others that had preceded this event. The new design language focuses on our humanity and it is represented with a diamond, as diamonds are known to last forever and IIDR believes Humanity last forever.

Different shapes were also introduced to depict several races we had in the world and housed within a diamond, this signified that despite our differences, we were all still human and equal

To complete the design language, the existing brand pattern and the newly adapted visual language were introduced.
